How to Measure
Neck
Measure around the base of your neck, where your collar normally sits.
Shoulder
With a proper fitting garment on a person or mannequin, measure across the top of the shoulder from seam to seam.
Chest
Establish the chest size by measuring around the fullest part of the chest, under the armhole, and around the back of the blades. The tape should be snug, but not tight.
Waist
Measure over the shirt at the natural waist.
Abdomen
Measure around the widest part of your stomach, usually around the belly button.
Hip
Measure at the fullest part of the seat.
Sleeve
With a proper fitting shirt on, measure from the shoulder seam to the bottom of the cuff.
Inseam
Outseam
Extend your arm out to the side. Measure from the shoulder down to the wrist.
Knee
Pant bottom
Back length
With a proper fitting shirt and pant on, measure the length from the top of the shirt seam to the bottom of your pant waist band. The pant waistband should be completely covered.
Front length
Measure from the top of the seam, around and straight down the full length required. Note: Crossover should cover bottom of belt by 1.25 to 2 inches
Front opening
Height
Stand straight against a wall without shoes. Use a measuring tape from the floor to the top of your head. Height for a Robe: Measure from the base of your neck to the floor.
